Jay Dockins |
Jay Dockins was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He grew up in a believing gentile home where a love for the Jewish people was instilled and where Jesus was presented in a way which identified Him as being both Jewish and the Promised Messiah.
After graduating from high school, Jay enrolled in college. After some time, Jay finally answered a calling that he had received from the Lord and began to pursue a Biblical education. Graduating from Central Bible College in 1982, Jay entered ministry as a Youth Pastor for seven years. He later taught school for two years and was a Senior Pastor for 17 years.
In the midst of his time as a Senior Pastor, Jay hosted former Rock of Israel Staff Minister Dale Cohen in his church. After hearing Dale teach and conversing with him on several occasions, Jay became vitally interested in learning more. He began studying more about Jesus and the Scriptures from a Jewish perspective. From that point on his thinking and outlook was changed and a burden began to develop for the Jewish people.
As the burden grew and developed and considering his upbringing, it seemed like a natural development when he felt the Lord calling Him into ministry to the Jewish people. After hosting Doug Carmel, another Rock of Israel Staff Minister, Jay began to pursue this new direction that he felt the Lord leading him in. The Lord opened the door for Jay to join the staff of Rock of Israel in October of 2006.
As a Staff Minister with Rock of Israel, Jay helps to lead and train the volunteers who participate in the evangelistic outreaches with Rock of Israel, preaches and teaches in local churches, officiates at Passover Seders, and represents the ministry at large ministry gatherings.
Jay lives in the Dover, Arkansas area with his wife, Kim, and their son, Jonathan. |
